The process below details how to polish aluminium tube butt welds with the Cibo Finitube tube polisher. Stage 1: Sand the weld with the 240 grit Finitube belts. Using a 240 grit belt will remove the weld in a controlled manner. This belt will ensure no deeper scratches are made in the aluminium which would take longer to remove. Stage 2: Repeat stage 1 with the FF87 320 and 400 grit abrasive belts to leave a fine pre-polished finish. Stage 3: With the white belt on the Finitube, apply a good quantity of green polish onto the belt. Then turn the speed up to max and wrap the belt around the tube. The green polish will turn black as the polish begins to work. When you have a consistent finish remove all the black polish with the vienna chalk. Stage 4: Repeat stage 3 with a clean non-abrasive belt and the pink polish after which clean the surface again with a lint free cloth and the vienna chalk.
