Why Stainless Steel requires regular maintenance:

Despite the fact that stainless steel is more resistant against the natural elements compared to traditional steel, it is not entirely maintenance free. It is important that the workpiece, the furniture or the construction is kept clean and that flash rust is removed frequently.

Regular maintenance of stainless steel protects your investment from deterioration, which can influence the mechanical strength of the construction.

The InoxiClean products from Cibo clean, protect and repair the surface. In short, it is a complete range of cleaning products that can be used throughout the entire lifespan of the treated material. It includes products that can be used during and after brushing or polishing (production phase) or for general maintenance and repair in case of damaged surfaces.

For production use chalk and spray.

For maintenance use spray and foam.

For restoration use the restore range.

How to Clean your Stainless Steel

Simply spray on whilst ensuring the Inoxiclean Restore is in good contact with the surface contamination by using a non-abrasive cloth. Wait for 5 minutes, then rub and rinse away. Your surfaces will be deep cleaned, with their original appearance and lustre restored.

– Fast and effective removal of rust and contaminants on stainless steel, aluminium and copper.

– Returns the original appearance and lustre to stainless steel.

– Safe and 100% biodegradable.

– Suitable for both industrial and everyday use.

Is InoxiClean Restore Food Safe?

Yes.  InoxiClean Restore has been tested and certified safe for use in food environments.  Additionally, it is biodegradeable, making it the most environmentally friendly product we know for removing rust and contaminants from stainless steel.

Customers regularly use InoxiClean Restore in kitchens for use on stainless steel industrial cookware and food containers. It is also used in swimming pools as well as in tougher environments such as the renovating and maintaining of street furniture, stainless steel handrails, machinery, vehicles and outdoor furniture.

How does InoxiClean Restore work?

InoxiClean Restore works as a deep cleaner, working into the pores of the surface of the metal removing acid rain, soot, fine dust, corrosion, dirt, oil and other unwanted contaminants which can affect the look of stainless steel.

In addition, InoxiClean Restore applies a protective layer which repels water and dirt, protecting it from corrosion and dirt for longer.

What Causes Stainless Steel to Rust?

It is a myth that stainless steel does not rust.  Stainless steel contains a number of chemical elements which act as a barrier to prevent the oxidation (rusting) of free iron in the metal. However, if the attack is aggressive enough then the free iron is released and the metal will rust. The more aggressive the environment, the stronger the barrier needs to be.The most common stainless steels used in metal fabrication and catering environments are 304 and 316.

304 stainless steel:  18% Chromium, 8% Nickel.  18/8 stainless, commonly used in indoor environments and catering.

316 Stainless steel:  16% Chromium, 10% Nickel and 2% Molybdenum.  The molybdenum increases the corrosion resistance and also the cost, but this increased resistance makes it the minimum specification for outdoor and particularly marine applications.
