Abrasive lap mops are great for deburring, blending and graining metal surfaces. Lap mops are made up of abrasive non-woven discs and can be mounted onto tapered spindles or to a spindle with an air tool or drill.
Depending on the grade, lap mops can also be used for cleaning and finishing metal surfaces where flexibility is required, such as on curved workpieces or complex shaped materials. We supply lap mops in 5 grades:
Abrasive lap mops are made by stapling a number of discs of tex / scotch-brite material together. Most lap mops are either 4″ or 6″ in diameter and commonly have 4, 5 or 6 laps
Because abrasive lap mops are constructed out of tex material they are most commonly used for blending and re-finishing satin polished stainless steel.
