Why? Because both the FTC 40 grit works faster, gives a better finish and has much lower vibration characteristics making them much nicer and safer to work with.
FTC - P40 grit: You just want out and out cut. Much faster than grinding discs but with the finish of a P40 flap disc. It really is the obvious choice.
