We have given you a range of belts and a couple of process options which we explain below. All will do the job, but it depends a little on what you are finally needing to achieve.
Process 1 option:
FX87 80 grit: The fastest to remove material, the coarsest finish followed by...
VT / FE2: Will give a clean bright 240 grit finish
Process 2 Option:
Use FX87 followed by...
FF87 180 grit followed by...
The VT RC3 very fine conditioning belt to give a 320 grit (Q-Rail type finish)
n.b. On aluminium the 180 grit will also have enough aggression to remove a fine tig weld in a controlled fashion.
