If you cannot use the FinitEasy to mirror polish stainless steel tube fillet welds then the next best option is using belts on an abrasive powerfile such as the Beltit or Dynafile 2.
The powerfile belt process takes more time but it can be done well with care. Below we have detailed the steps required and in the correct sequence.
If you can control the speed then you will find it much easier to work more slowly in the earlier steps and then gradually increase the speed of the machine as the finish gets finer. We have assumed you will need to remove a tig weld.
Step 1: The coarsest belt you will need is the FX87 P80 grit
Step 2 - 4: Use the Trzact 237AA belts in sequence - A160, A65, A30, A6.
Step 5: Use the white non-abrasive belt with the PV101 polishing compound.
Step 6: Remove all the remaining polish from the metal with a lint free cloth and our PV103 Vienna chalk
Step 7: With a fresh non-abrasive belt repeat the polishing stage, if required with the PV102 (pink)
