What is 3M Trizact?

Trizact was developed by 3M Abrasives as a competitor product to compact grain abrasives.  What are the unique characteristics of 3M Trizact that make it such a special product?

  1. Trizact uses micron sieved abrasive grain.  So every abrasive grain is an identical size.
  2. The abrasive grain is coated onto the surface of the abrasive backing using a micro-replication or macro-replication coating process.  Which means the structure of each grade is specific to that product.  it also means that the abrasive will reveal fresh cutting edges over the extended lifetime of the abrasive.
  3. 337DC and 953FA belts use a macro-replication coating process.  This creates rectangular blogs and a strong grinding surface for each belt.  337DC and 953FA belts have the capacity to grind and finish in one operation.
  4. 237AA belts and discs use a micro-replication coating process.   237AA belts and discs will finish metals with fewer steps and to a higher standard than traditional abrasives.  The pyramid structure of means fresh cutting edges are continually revealed to ensure long abrasive life.
