Browse our full range of fibre sanding discs for angle grinders. Choose from ceramic, zirconium oxide, aluminium oxide, silicon carbide & surface conditioning fibre discs to fit on 100mm, 115mm, 125mm and 180mm angle grinders.
For high aggression high performance grinding we recommend the new AF799 Actirox ceramic fibre discs.
For intermediate sanding and finishing we recommend the zirconia K3K or aluminium oxide KFK fibre sanding discs.
Use the filters at the side to shorten your search. For example: want to look at only 100mm diameter discs? Click on diameter, then click on 100mm.
For high aggression high performance grinding we recommend the new AF799 Actirox ceramic fibre sanding discs. For intermediate sanding and finishing we recommend the zirconia or aluminium oxide fibre sanding discs.
Abrasive fibre discs are a versatile sanding disc used on angle grinders for all kinds of applications: metal fabrication, woodworking, furniture manufacture or metal polishing.
They are made up of a vulcanised fibre base upon which is coated a layer of abrasive grit, bonded in a resin matrix. Fibre discs over increased flexibility and a lower unit cost than abrasive flap discs
The main option you need to be aware of when purchasing fibre discs for an angle grinder is the abrasive grit type.
A new material designed to give you maximum stock removal. Designed to give you a better performance than comparable conventional abrasives. The premium ceramic grain is developed for use on unalloyed steel and aluminium, but also suitable for stainless steel and non-ferrous metal.
Designed with new grain technology to ensure an aggressive cut, Actirox will give you maximum performance from your discs. This brand new disc is developed for use on super alloys and stainless steel, but also suitable for aluminium, unalloyed steel and non-ferrous metal.
Ceramic abrasive grits are the most recent innovation in abrasive grit manufacture. Aluminium oxide grain is processed through a refractory process to create a highly durable and aggressive grain which is much tougher than a zirconia abrasive.
The best option for fine limit sheet metal sanding, we recommend the FX ceramic sanding discs for high performance grinding on stainless steel, scale removal on mild steel and also coarse grinding on aluminium.
Zirconium oxide abrasive grain has a cubic structure and is tougher and more durable than aluminium oxide sanding discs. We recommended our K3K zirconia fibre discs for medium aggression and general purpose grinding on stainless steel
Aluminium oxide is a naturally occurring abrasive mineral which is refined through a refractory process to increase it’s durability. All aluminium oxide fibre discs supplied by Cibo use Fe / iron free aluminium oxide abrasive grain. We particularly recommend the KFK fibre discs for grinding on non-ferrous metals and for finish sanding on mild steels.
SCM surface conditioning fibre discs use a base material of scm products and laminate the conditioning material to a vulcanised fibre base. This allows for the SCM pads to be used on an angle grinder with the same back up pad as the ceramic and zirconia fibre discs.
Surface conditioning discs are designed to refine, blend and remove scratches and damage from a metal surface.
The lifetime of abrasive fibre sanding discs is very dependent on the abrasive grain being used and on the metal that is being sanded.
As a rule of thumb the ceramic abrasive fibre discs will outlast a zirconia disc by approximately 3x life.
When grinding aluminium the biggest issue can be the speed at which the aluminium clogs up the sanding disc. For this reason many companies choose to buy aluminium oxide fibre disc. Now there are two alternative solutions which will improve your sanding performance.
Option 1: The Cibo FX sanding discs include grinding aids on the disc which not only improve the disc life but also reduce the grinding temperature, this in turn will reduce the speed at which aluminium will clog the sanding disc.
Option 2: In addition we can also supply the new Alugrind spray which is commonly called ‘grinding aids in a can’. Simply spray the Alugrind onto the sanding disc to prevent the disc from clogging up and increase the speed of cut.
