50mm Wide Sanding & Polishing Wheel Options

Over the years Cibo have developed an extensive range of M14 thread wheels designed for use on variable speed grinders. We recommend a maximum wheel width of 50mm for use on grinders which is ideal for box section and angle profiled stainless steel and aluminium.

Combination Wheels – High aggression sanding with 60 grit ceramic cloth. Fine finishing with the 80 and 180 grit aluminium oxide flexible cloth wheels..
Tex Wheels – Satin finishing Tex / scotchbrite wheels from 80 to 600 grit.
Airflow Wheels – Cotton & flannel polishing wheels in airflow construction to ensure the brightest polish finish.

M14 50mm Wide Combi Brushing Wheels

Combination wheels are defined by the abrasive cloth grit size. The abrasive cloth does the work. The Tex fleece does the finishing all in one action. We have 3 standard products in this family:

FMCMC – Ginger Ninja!! So called because of it’s colour but also because of it’s capacity to work. Use the Ginger Ninja to remove 80 grit sanding lines and re-grain your metal. The Most popular wheel with stainless steel box section fabricators.
FMCM – 80 and 180. They give a very similar finish to the 80 or 180 Tex brushes but are recommended when working near edges. Use the FMCM/180 to blend very well with a 320 grit satin finish.

M14 50mm Wide Tex / Scotchbrite Wheels

The grit size on the Tex / Scotchbrite type wheels and brushes can be a little confusing. The most popular Tex brush is the 80 grit grade which will leave a 240 grit satin finish.

FMTM – 80 – Coarse grade. The most popular wheel for blending with a 240 grit stainless brush finish. Ideal for removing weld colour and blending the brush finish to a consistent surface.
FMTM – 180 – Medium grade. Ideal for blending to a 320 grit finish. We use the 180 grit wheel with the Trizact discs and the Cibo Time Saving Kits.
FMTM – 280 – Fine grade. When a superfine finish is needed. The 280 wheel is perfect for the job.

M14 50mm Wide Polishing Wheels

Ideally used in combination with the Cibo Time Saving Kit set 6. M14 thread angle grinder polishing wheels that will create the perfect finish every time.

FLM – Flannel Polishing. Using a softer flannel cloth the FLM polishing wheel is the finest option for the brightest finish. Use with Cibo PV/102 pink polishing compound for the finest and brightest finish.
SUM – Cotton Polishing. High quality Indian cotton polishing mop with airflow construction. Use PV/101 green or PV/102 pink polish for a good quality mirror polished finish.

115mm and 125mm angle grinder free running speed is normally between 10,000 and 11,500rpm.

Note: None of the M14 range of variable speed grinder polishing wheels are designed to run at maximum angle grinder speed. All the Cibo M14, 50mm range of sanding and polishing wheels have a maximum operating speed of 4,200rpm.

Would you Prefer to Work with Wider Wheels?

Cibo developed the 50mm wide M14 thread wheels specifically to work with the Finpower variable speed grinder range. If you are working on wider surfaces than it will be much easier to work with 100mm or 110mm wide wheels. That is when it makes much more sense to work with the Cibo Finimaster machines. Working with 110mm wide wheel that has the M14 thread fixing will allow for faster worknig and also much easier finishing.
